Inaugural English Expo showcases Mississippiā€™s legacy of literature

STARKVILLE, Miss.ā€”°®°®Ö±²„ā€™s Department of English offers high school students an opportunity to immerse themselves in Mississippiā€™s rich legacy of literatureā€”demonstrating the multitude of educational and professional options available to English majorsā€”at an inaugural English Expo this fall.

ā€œEnglish Expo: Mississippi in the Worldā€ is free of charge on Friday, Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. 4 p.m. in the Colvard Student Union. Participants can explore the world of English, including literature, writing studies, linguistics, creative writing and film studies.

Students in grades 9-12 will engage in interactive activities such as learning to film, creating movie posters, ā€˜breaking outā€™ of literary escape rooms, and writing at hands-on creative stations.
